MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. William Carey (Miss.) swept the awards, with Cam Brown being named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Makeem Roberts being named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Dec. 9-15.
Cam Brown (William Carey – SR – G – Hattiesburg, Miss.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- In a 2-0 week, Brown averaged 23 points and four steals per game while shooting 61% overall and 53% from 3-point range
- He scored 22 in a win over Southeastern Baptist and 24 in a win over Truett McConnell
Makeem Roberts (William Carey – JR – G – Meridian, Miss.)
- This is his second honor this season
- In a 2-0 week, Roberts averaged 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 5.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game
- He posted fie defensive rebounds and four steals v. Southeastern Baptist and four defensive boards and six steals v. Truett McConnell
