MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. UT Southern swept the awards, with Manuel Flores being named SSAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Michael Anderson being named SSAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Oct. 28 – Nov. 3.
Manuel Flores (UT Southern - SR – MID – Lisbon, Portugal)
- This is his second-career honor
- Flores totaled five points in the tie v. Life in the first-round contest
- He produced two goals and one assist
Michael Anderson (UT Southern – SR – GK – Wartrace, Tenn.)
- This is his second-career honor
- Anderson made 11 stops in 110 minutes of action to force a 3-3 tie with Life in the first round of the SSAC Championship
- He then came up with a big stop in the seventh round of PK’s to send the Firehawks to the next round
