MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Antwon Ferrell of Point (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Jeffrey Selden of Faulkner (Ala.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Nov. 18-24.
Antwon Ferrell (Point – JR – G – Newnan, Ga.)
- This is his second honor this season
- In a 1-1 week, Ferrell averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, while shooting 68% overall and 88% from the charity stripe
- He scored 25 points and had three assists in a win v. Blue Mountain Christian and added 22 points and 10 boards v. Middle Georgia
Jeffrey Selden (Faulkner – JR – G – Austin, Texas)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- In a 2-0 week, Selden averaged 6.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game
- He tied a moder era program record with six steals in a win over Middle Georgia and grabbed eight defensive rebounds on the week
