MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Ezra McKenna of Mobile (Ala.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and KJ Rogers of Faulkner (Ala.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Nov. 11-17.
Ezra McKenna (Mobile – SR – F – Fort Walton Beach, Fla.)
- This is his 13th-career weekly honor
- In a 3-0 week, McKenna averaged 20.3 points and 13.7 rebounds, while shooting 69% from the field and 83% from the charity stripe
- He posted double-doubles in all three games, including 30 points and 17 boards v. Loyola
KJ Rogers (Faulkner – JR – G – St. Thomas, Virgin Islands)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- In a 2-0 SSAC week, Rogers made a big impact defensively
- In a 67-62 win v. UT Southern, he recorded four steals as Faulkner scored 29 points off turnovers, and in a 57-54 win over the Toppers, he had a pair of blocks, including a blocked 3-pointer at the buzzer
