MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Jason Hunt of Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Ezra McKenna of Mobile (Ala.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Nov. 4-10.
Jason Hunt (Blue Mountain – SO – G – Jackson, Tenn.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- Hunt averaged 22.7 points per game, while shooting 57% overall, 46% from 3-point range and 93% from the charity stripe in a 3-0 week
- He scored 29 points v. Crowley’s Ridge and 24 points v. Indiana University Columbus
Ezra McKenna (Mobile – SR – F – Fort Walton Beach, Fla.)
- This is his 12th-career weekly honor
- In a 2-0 week, including beating No. 17 Ave Maria, McKenna averaged 19.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game
- He had double-doubles in both contests
