MARION, Ind. – Life (Ga.) won the 2023 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championship, claiming their second-straight title after winning it all in 2022.
The Running Eagles climbed a tightly-packed leaderboard on the final day, with Phemelo Matlhabe winning the 200m (20.51) and finishing second in the 100m, Jacob Ulrich finishing second in the 400m and then a runner-up finish in the 4x400m finished it off.

Highlights
- Life (40.30) finished as runner-up in the 4x100m relay, while Talladega (40.35) placed 4th for All-America recognition
- Life’s Joshua Wagner finished 8th in the 1500m (3:55.12) for All-America honors
- Talladega’s Emmanuel Niang (13.92) placed 3rd in the 110m hurdles to gain All-America honors
- Life’s Phemlo Matlhabe was just-edged out in the 100m, finishing with runner-up honors after a run of 10.27. Talladega’s Nastario Williams finished 7th at 10.52
- Life’s Jacob Ulrich (2nd – 46.60) and Ngoni Chadyiwa (4th – 46.90) earned All-America honors in the 400m
- Talladega’s Nastario Williams earned All-America honors with a No. 8 finish in the 200m (22.54)
- Life (3:08.70) earned runner-up honors in the 4x400m relay, while William Carey finished fourth at 3:11.77
