MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Hunter Varnadoe of Middle Georgia was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week and Kason Cullins of Loyola (La.) was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of April 10-16.
Hunter Varnadoe (Middle Georgia – JR – RHP – Warner Robins, Ga.)
- This is his second-career honor
- Varnadoe pitched the Knights to a 5-2 win over Talladega
- He struck out 10 and allowed only one unearned run on three hits in 6.1 innings of mound work
Kason Cullins (Loyola – JR – OF – Baton Rouge, La.)
- This is his first-career honor
- In a 3-0 SSAC week for Loyola, Cullins hit .600 and slugged 1.500, whilte totaling five runs, six hits, five XBH and nine RBIs
- He had multiple RBIs in each game and capped the week by going 4-for-4 with three XBH and four RBIs in the finale
