MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Middle Georgia State swept the SSAC Baseball Player of the Week honors, with Logan Lee being named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week and Jacob Pierce being named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of April 3-9.
Logan Lee (Middle Georgia – SR – RHP – Rockford, Mich.)
- This is his first-career honor
- Pitched the Knights to a 5-1 win over No. 12 Loyola, carrying a perfect game into the sixth inning
- He struck out seven and allowed only one unearned run on two hits in a complete-game seven inning effort
Jacob Pierce (Middle Georgia – JR – OF – Warner Robins, Ga.)
- This is his first-career honor
- In a series sweep of No. 12 Loyola, Pierce hit .500, posted a .615 OBP and slugged 1.700, while totaling four home runs and nine RBIs
- He homered in every game, including a two-homer game in the 5-4 win in game two, where he accounted for the final four runs with his team trailing 4-1
