MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner (Ala.) won the 2023 SSAC Women’s Basketball Championship, presented by Newk’s Eatery, by beating No. 1 seed Loyola (La.) 67-55.
The championship is Faulkner’s first SSAC Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship. Both teams earn automatic bids to the 2023 NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championship.

How It Happened
- Loyola pulled within single-digits at 61-52 with 3:36 to play, but the Eagles’ defense held them without a field goal for the next three minutes
- Faulkner last trailed 8-6 with 6:10 to go in the first period, but a Morgan Holland jumper tied it at 5:48 and they took the lead for good on a bucket from Adams at the 5:14 mark
