MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 2022 Barnes & Noble College Baseball Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year were released by the Southern States Athletic Conference.
William Carey’s RJ Stinson headlines the list as the 2022 Barnes & Noble College Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In the classroom, the sophomore posted a 4.0 GPA as a health, recreation, physical education major. On the field, he was named First-Team All-Conference and SSAC Championship MVP. He is hitting .409 with a .505 OBP, while totaling 45 RBIs and 67 hits.

- Stillman’s Reese posted a 3.96 GPA, WCU’s O’Bannon has a 3.89 GPA and Loyola’s Alexander turned in a 3.84 GPA
- Stinson and Martin were First-Team All-Conference selections, while Alexander, O’Bannon, Santiago and Wilson earned Second-Team nods
- Reese and Wilson earned SSAC Gold Glove honors
- To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
- Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school
