MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Jackson Smith of Brewton-Parker (Ga.) was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and Garrett Martin of Middle Georgia State was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 28 – April 3.
Jackson Smith (Brewton-Parker – JR – C – Bartow, Ga.)
- In a series win over Mobile, Smith hit .455 and slugged 1.545, while totaling four home runs and 10 RBIs
- He homered and drove in multiple runs in all three games of the series
- In the finale, he hit a grand slam and a two-run homer to finish with six RBIs
Garrett Martin (Middle Georgia – SR – RHP – Gypsum, Colo.)
- Martin wins the award for the second time this season
- In a 3-0 win v. William Carey, he tossed seven innings of three-hit, shutout ball, while striking out 11
