MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Maria Azarias of William Carey (Miss.) was named SSAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Courtney Link of Middle Georgia State was named SSAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of October 17-23.
Maria Azarias (William Carey – JR – MID – Sao Paulo, Brazil)
- This is her first-career honor
- In a 2-0 week for the Crusaders, she posted eight points on two goals and four assists
- Azarias had two assists in a 4-0 win v. Georgia Gwinnett and two goals and two assists in a win at Mobile
Courtney Link (Middle Georgia – SR – GK – Marietta, Ga.)
- This is her seventh-career award
- In a 2-0 win at Faulkner, Link delivered a seven-save shutout performance
- The Knights have turned in five-straight shutouts
