Emmanuel & Jones Earn NAIA Field Athlete of the Week Honors

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A pair of William Carey (Miss.) student-athletes earned NAIA M&W Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors. Ineh Emmanuel was named NAIA Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Brittany Jones was named NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for their performance the week of March 22-28.

Ineh Emmanuel (William Carey – SO – Warri, Nigeria)

  • Emmanuel won the long jump (8.07m) and the triple jump (16.08m) at the Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays in a loaded field
  • Both marks rank No. 1 in the NAIA and qualify him for the NAIA National Championship. They are also school records and the long jump mark ranks top-5 in the world

Brittany Jones (William Carey – SR – Soso, Miss.)

  • Jones posted NAIA-leading marks in the long jump (6.16m) and triple jump (12.25m) at the Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays
  • Both marks qualify her for the NAIA National Championships and the long jump mark is top-25 nationally regardless of division
